Sako 85 free float barrel way off center in stock - is this a problem?

Took it into Stoeger today and they re-positioned the action in the stock on the spot. Barrel is more or less centered in the channel now (as good or better than other 85s I have seen). I noticed the bottom metal is now slightly off-centre, so it seems that there is indeed some tolerance in the stock which can allow the action to be shifted around. I guess this is to be expected from a production rifle. Still have to see if the rifle shoots straight and make sure the action does not shift, but things are looking good right now and I would say I had good customer service from Stoeger.

To be honest, I haven't come across a production rifle that allows for this. I'd say your gun needs a proper bedding job at the very least.
