Hey guys, I’m thinking of putting a proof research carbon barrel on my Sako 85 grizzly. It currently chambered in 308, and I was thinking of swapping it to 6.5 Creedmoor. Any thoughts?? Or has anyone had a PR barrel fitted to their rifle?

Personally, I wouldn't do it. Keep the grizzly how it is and buy a Remington 700 action for the barrel. Keep the grizzly for its intended purpose. Brush gun
 
I have looked into doing it with a Sako 85. It’s definitely doable. But other than looks I don’t think there’s any point. To me the weight difference didn’t make up for the price difference not even close. Personally I think they’re just a fad. But if I had lots of money to burn I would have a carbon wrap.
 
A SAKO costs a lot of money just to use as a donor gun.

As mentioned, I'd just have one built on a 700 or just buy a 6.5CM. Sell the SAKO to fund the project.
 
Hardy makes CF barrels for Tikka/Sako. Check with Insite Arms.

It may not be for everyone, but it would make for an interesting piece. Good luck
