The 85 ejection issues with long action cartridges like the 270 and 3006 have been well documented on the Internet. As a short action fan, I haven't found any reports that it is a problem on 85 short actions. Anyone confirm/refute this?
I love the feel and quality manufacture of the Sako 85s I have handled in various gun shops - but no way am I am shelling out the better part of $2000 to have a rifle eject shells into my scope casing/adjustment turret and I have little interest in having to mount my optic super high to achieve proper ejection clearance.
