Hi does anyone out there have or know where i can find a recoil bolt for a sako the rifle i would like to but it in is a A111 in 338 caliber the A111's only had one recoil bolt where as the A5's had two bolts . so i am beginning to get the start of some cracking in the radian behind the tang so i will make repairs ,but i thought the addition of the second recoil bolt may help prevent any further damage. thank you for all you're help regards Darcy

Don't know where you can get the bolt but if you glass bed it with relief behind the rear tang that should stop further damage. It has always worked on mauser type actions for me. Try Western Gun Parts for the bolt.

Hi Neil! thank you for the advice it is much appreciated. I was just going to remove this from the site,as i found the sako through bolt ,or cross bolt on brownells site and i ordered it. i will use some glass bedding on it and relieve the area at the rear of the tang. we are also going to use a pin through the checkering on the stock and use a small ivory circle piece to cover the hole where the pin is epoxied . this should save me buying a new stock . thanks again best regards DArcy

Fwiw I have a Finnsport 2700 in .338WM that came from the factory with the normal front crossbolt and another "hidden" crossbolt that has been inserted in the PG area.....the factory chose to remove two plugs of wood on both sides of the stock, insert a crossbolt and re-install the wood plugs which were then checkered with the rest of the stock.
