Just bought a new Sako A7 300wsm pkg deal from WSS. Sighting it in and found the spent casings would not eject but fall back onto the next round in the magazine. After some research and experimenting I found that the low rings that come with the pkg deal and the large windage turret cap on the Burris E1 scope were causing the spent casing to hit the scope and fall back in.

Swapped the rings for Warne maxima medium height and spent casings eject without issue. Just letting guys know incase someone else experiences the same problem and thinks they got a lemon.

Hey thats great because i had to borrow the warnes from another rifle. Maybe I will give them a shout. Thanks!

I had exact same issue, quick email exchange with Stoeger and I was sent new rings as they said the A7 package with the Burris scope came with too short of rings, thus ejecting a spent round would hit the scope and fall back into the action, I shoot a .300wsm and also had an issue with the mag ejecting shells at random times which they also replaced no questions asked!

Two A7s,a 270win and a 300wm both with low scopes neither is a problem, I have heard of this problem on the 85s as well, I talked myself out of a Sako 85 purchase that I was contemplating mainly because the high scope mount and low stock comb would make for a bad fit for me.

I had the exact issue with an A7 in 22-250 and no matter what ring height I used the spent brass would bounce back in the chamber. I was lucky Cabelas too it back with full refund as it was under 30 days.

Absolute BS that rings can be "too short" It is a design flaw that Sako is hiding and not willing to admit. Shame on Sako. I have been an enthusiastic Sako collector and user for years. This issue leaves me looking for other brands with more integrity.
