Sako A7 - first look

Cant make up my mind..... 270, 308 or 7mm-08 . I wonder if the short actions are much lighter . I like .270 but cant find a stainless one.

I already have some thumpers for big game so this would be the ideal lightweight deer rifle. May pass it on to my wife If she ever gets into hunting . 7mm-08 is the only one Im not setup to reload for but its intriguing all the same.

Ive had an A7 for several months now, in 30-06.....

At 300 yds I am within 3 inches (likely my shooting)

At 100yds I am sub moa with 180g Nosler Partitions factory.

And please, if those Tik's are still around for $599 I will take 7 of them in 30-06 , 270, 300 win. Thanks. Just let me know where to send the cert cheque

First time out with my A7 today. (270 win.) (100 yard tests)

Still some development to be done, The two first shots on the right were 58 grains of H4831 behind a 130 Nosler BT, the next shot over is 59 grains. (I should of brought my notes to the range with me). Its funny how it works out, I thought I would get better groups at higher pressure and for this gun its the other way around. I dont' mind one bit, If I want to go faster Ive got other rifles in the safe that will do so by a fair margin.

58 gr. gives 3000 fps which is good enought for me so Ill work around here. I noticed the pressure signs around 3120 fps and pulled the rest of my loads.

Next week Id like to get some good 5 shot groups.....see if Sako holds up to their accuracy promise....so far so good.
