Sako A7 or Tikka T3

I'm looking to purchase a new hunting rifle but im stuck between the a7 or t3 any suggestions of rifles that I may have over looked or your thoughts would be appreciated !!

Optilocks aren't the only choice for the T-3, just so the OP isn't mislead.
 
You can mount a scope on a T3 for around 40$ on the cheap side. That being said, the A7 is obviously the better rifle.
 
I've owned both, A7 in 300WSM and T3 in 308 both stainless. I found the stock and trigger pull to feel better on the A7. Minor differences made it the better gun. Buying it for $600 new made it a no brainer.

Why not use Talley LW mounts -rings at $50.00 to mount up a scope on a T3 :confused: - i did and it holds a 2.5-8 Leupold and functions perfect ! :D RJ
 
I have a T3 stainless/synthetic in 30-06. Own a number of heavy recoiling magnums and i found the recoil excessive with vanilla factory loads. They truly are very light, which is excellent for walking, but harsh on recoil. If you buy a T3, consider the $50 price tag of a good recoil pad to be a part of the true cost. I went Limbsaver, and the gun now behaves like a 243, low recoil, excellent accuracy.

Very happy with my purchase, have no experience with the A7.

two weaver 61 bases will put you in the weaver rings world for you tikka.

The pad on my T3 SS 338 Federal was changed too and it makes a big difference in felt recoil for sure ! RJ
 
^^ That's one situation where Tikka has their head up their ass.. equipping their rifles with a long enough magazine to hold rounds that use up the chamber space. Pretty simple concept, WTF? A shooting bud in town here has a Tikka Tactical shoots like a laser but he has to single shoot it with his best handloads. :confused:

That why i changed the bolt stop amd went to unblocked mags in my Tikka T3 . Fixes the problem ! RJ
