Sako a7 owners

I have an A7 .308 stainless soft touch and I love it. I hear a lot of people complain that they don't like the stock but I think its really good fit for me. I shoot 150g hornady superformance with great results.

I'm thinking of selling my Tikka .22-250 for another A7 in same caliber

I believe they are 22 & 7/16 inches.

I had problems with one mag. I bent the lips and now it’s perfect. The second mag never had a problem.

Mine has been impeccably accurate. Many rounds shoot hole-in-hole from factory ammo. It’s a 30-06, and the fusion in 165 & 180, plus the set superformance rounds all shoot to that standard. PowerPoint do not, so I’m shooting more expensive ammo that I had hoped for...

Had 2, a .308 & .270 never saw the need to change anything...both good rifles, MOA with no effort. Had 6x36 scopes on both.

A7 roughtech pro, A7 roughtech range and A7 ‘regular’ are all different in terms of stock design.Bolts and triggers are the same.
The roughtecks have a heftier glass reinforced stock, aluminum bedding and an aluminum skeleton that runs from bedding into the stock paddle itself.
The roughtech range has a flattened enlarged forend as well and have bull barrels so they are heavier.
The regular A7 has a slimmer, rubberized stock but no aluminum bedding and no skeleton reinforcing. they are typically around 6 3/4 lbs.
I have the roughtech pro in 7mm Magnum, it has 24”, fluted stainless barrel. Weighs 7 1/4Lbs. which is a good weight for a longer barrel magnum.
No issues with feeding or ejection.A lot of folks try ejecting with regular unfired ( heavy) cartridges ... that’s not how ejection is designed! It is designed to eject empty cases! Mine shoots as well as Sako’s usually do...I think the quality and features for the price I got the rifle for ( from this site) are worth it.( $900).I think if you are looking for a good do all rifle that you can actually hunt where I-hunt(BC), you can do a lot worst.

I love the Sakos and have a few , I was looking at these, but their prices went up and I started finding used rifles with far better quality no brand or all brands ( older is better )
But I like Sakos older the better up to the 75s , they " improved " to much after that

I have a soft touch .308, awesome rifle. Have a Nikon Monarch 3 4-16x50, shoots great. No issues with the Mag or ejection. Been flawless so far. Hoping to find one in .25-06 in the future. If not that, a Tikka T3x grey laminate or Sako 85 Greywolf.
