Looking into buying one but wondering if any of the current a7 owners have had any issues with the current stock? Not sure I can wait until the "new redesigned" stock hits the shelves.

The new stocks will apparently mostly just be approx. 4 oz of weight added to the forend around the swivel stud in the form of cross brasing. I can only assume they are doing this as there have been some problems reported.

So, esthetics aside have any of you a7 owners had any problems with your stocks?

No issue with the stock, only an issue with the mag, the second shell would not feed consistently, remedy was to take back the magazine and have it replaced (this is still to be done, probably today)

Other than that, it's a great rifle, off the bench, cheap scope we put on it to test, we were getting 1 inch groupings, might have been better, but the screws for the scope mounts got loose and well this didn't help.....(it was on the rifle just to test anyways)

over all a descent shooter

this is not my rifle, posting for a buddy who has it, but I did shoot it.....

Cheers

If there are any problems Sako will replace it for free. If you aren't using a bipod you'll likely never have an issue but if you are, you definitely could.

No issues here......Its quite mind boggling to think that someone would buy a lightweight rifle and slap a bipod on it. I dont' think that's what Sako had in mind but I guess some "end-users" had other plans.

Well I'm planning on buying one this week in 22-250 and yes I'll be using my harris bi-pod on it quite abit....we'll see how she holds up!!

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated. Great to hear from those that have them are over all happy with them. Other than the one problem with the mag. which seems to have been resolved, they sound like a good buy for reliability and accuracy.

No plans for a bipod on it so I should be good to go. Out of curiosity does anyone here have a bipod on theirs? Any problems?

Cheers
