Check out the newest versions of the A7 called the roughtech, looks like a composite stock a la B&C and others, they got both a traditional hunting version and a more precision/target oriented model + fluted barrel. These were already great rifle but a lot of poeple, inclueding me, didnt like the plastic stock. Now i got to find out if i can get one for mine!

Call or email Stoeger Canada to find out. Looks sweet. I prefer the small swale in the stock on the Target model over the Pro. I have a friend wanting to buy a Sak A7ss in 300WSM. If these were available before May, he might be happy.

I saw the hunting model at SHOT Show and really liked it. When I last talked with the Stoeger guys they had no plans of bringing them into Canada but some pressure may change their mind. The price puts it very close to the cost of a Finnlight so that was one concern they had.

What? That would absolutely suck if they don't bring them to Canada. Handling a bud's Finnlight this past weekend (first Sako I'd had much if anything to do with) had me surfing the Sako site the other night and I was all over this new Roughtech thinking it should show up any time now up in these parts. I really really hope Stoeger changes their mind if this is the case I would bet $$ that they'd sell a boat load of these up here. Love the stock ... on paper anyways...but I mean how is that not going to shoot? awesome system

I hate to be a downer but I was recently informed (through a salesperson at a local retailer who called their contact with Sako's Canadian distributor while I was present) about what the Sako shipments to Canada are looking like in the foreseeable future. They said roughly 2000 rifles total to Canada in the next year. They also said none of the stuff new on the website for 2014 (I was asking about the M85 stainless black specifically) will likely make it to Canada this season. This could all be speculation of course but it sounded like we should not hold our breath for much more availability of new product and in particular the ones very recently released. Just something overheard at a gun shop I guess. Another FYI, Cabelas Edmonton seemed to have more stock than usual in Sako this past weekend, so it may be worth a random call if anyone is looking.

Heard back from Stoeger already (impressive) looks like we'll see this new rifle before long :) :
