Click on search this thread. Top right of the page. You will find just about any on this gun.

I think that there stock is really cheap and need a better butt pad. I here they shot good.

what scope

thanks for the replys so far now what scope would you put on it and i beleive it comes with the scope bases

I have 2 A7's.....;30-06 and 300 win mag

Both shoot sub MOA out of the box. Actually my 30-06 with 180g Noslers with 57g of RL22 powder will shoot sub MOA at 200yds...

The stock is adequate, the recoil pad is not shaped well. I ground mine down a bit flatter.....my sons 300win mag has a limbsaver on it.

Im impressed with my 30-06 for sure. It has a 3x9x40 Leupold on it in Weaver rings.

I cant remember if the bases came with it or not......sorry.

I have one in .308 and damn do I love it. When I sighted it in with Federal Powershock 150gr's @ 100 yrds my best group was 1/2" and the worst was a little over 3/4". Everything else fell in between. Still need to tinker with reloads as I got it not long before hunting season and didn't have a lot of time. Last I shot it, I was grouping under 2" @ 200 yrds.

The trigger is absolutely beautiful. Crisp and light.

Right now it has a Limbsaver buttpad on it as I like a little more length of pull and the stock buttpad was definitely rock-like when it was cold. The rubber is less than 1/4" thick with plastic making up the rest. I also filled in the buttstock with spray-in insulation foam which makes it not sound so hollow when walking through brush. It seems to make it more solid too. I also have a Harris bipod installed. The only other thing I changed was the sling swivels as the stock set seemed to fit loosely in the studs and rattled constantly when being carried.

As for optics I have a Leupold VX-II 3-9x40 in a pair of Leupold Weaver QD rings. You are right that bases come with the rifle. I carried it around all last season moose hunting on foot and it being such a light rifle was great.

All in all I am very happy with the rifle and have no hesitation recommending the A7 or its cousin, the Tikka.

I have a Bushnell 4200 on mine and removed the bases that came with the rifle and replaced them with a set of Talley lightweight base/rings...

Most of the A7's we sell have those Weaver styles taken off soon after they are bought. We keep the Talley LWT's in stock for the A7's and most guys seem to want them.
