Anyone else shoot Sako ammo? Would it be among the top tier of European manufactured ammo? Say up to Lapua or Norma standards.

I ended up getting a quantity of 30/06 165 gr Game Head ammo.

What performance have shooters gotten with this offering from Sako?

From my limited observations, it is excellent ammunition. Seems to be on par with Norma and Lapua. Recent price promotions made it very attractive to buy. I've used some in .222, .308 and .375 H&H. Accurate in my rifles and the brass seems very good for reloading. Good bullet selection too. Their bonded bullets are excellent for hunting.

I also scooped up a bunch last year with their rebates. I have a few boxes of 150gr Gamehead .308 ammo which is super affordable but shoots well, and my Browning in .270 really likes the 156gr bullet offering. And now I've got piles of decent Sako brass to load up. I'm generally happy with the quality and availability of the Sako stuff but would love it doubly-so if they'd sell their primers as components, too!

Some of the Sako .223rem Gamehead I have looks to have bullets at slightly different depths. Not sure if this is nitpicking or even matters, but something I noticed when I opened a box and could see the rim of the brass relative to the “line” on the bullet.

I have a beauty 270 that will turn out tight cloverleafs with Federal Powershock 130s. Most other shelf ammo including 140s and 150s also stay tight. The Gamehead 130s were a bit over 1" and Gamehead Pro 140s were a bit wild at 2".
