I just managed to pick one of these up, it was part of a large estate, new and unfired in box, at a price that I just could not refuse.
With our current government on the ban hammer on large caliber rounds, this was my screw you purchase.

Wondering if any of you fine CGN'rs have any experience with the XL sako actions
Or with the 450 Rigby caliber.
Thanks in advance

I had a Sako Gray wolf in 375 H&H. Action was smooth as butter and beautiful finish but the shape of the stock did not fit me well. Never shot a gun that bothered me so much. My 416 REM Mag Remington 700 felt delightful in comparison. Just standard factory loads. Zero issues with feeding and extraction.

I’m sure your gun will be lovely and may fit you better.

Got a .375 H&H mag Sako 85 Kodiak receiver size L .450 Rigby receiver size XL. Fine rifle congrats! Got a .416 Rigby sure like it parent case to the .450 Rigby.

Here's my Kodiak eject demo video:

450 Rigby can be loaded with lighter bullets to make decent deer, elk rifles or black bear. Course I am not a long distance shooter. 200,250 is my limit.

EXCELLENT ! Good on you Bud ! Cheers RJ

Looks like .450 Rigby factory ballistics 500gr @ 2500 fps mv can always make reduced loads. My .458 WM 500gr @ 1900 fps mv for example works real good on Moose @ ~1700 fps impact.

I can load my .458 Lott with 405gr at .45-70 Trapdoor level.

very good catch.

Got 100 norma brass, redding dies and a bore guide coming from a great cgn’r!
Now to decide on what bullet to try first.
If Woodliegh was shipping it would be a no brainer. But I might have to try out some hornady soft points for now.

Not sure exactly where I am going to start with my reloading journey on this guy, but I have some of the Norma factory ammo on its was as well, it will be for the fun shooting to knock the snott out of ones nose.
I might load some 400gr bullets and some 450 with a bit of a reduced load for plinking, then spice up some 500 and 550 grainers to lift your front foot off the ground.

Well she showed up
Fantastic workmanship
Wood to metal fit is perfect, nice open sites. Excellent trigger.
Holds 4 down and one in the chamber.
Norma factory loads are in the nicest factory box I have ever seen mind you for the price they should be.
