Hornady .416 Rigby brass about $5 ea. looks like .450 Rigby brass more costly. Neck sizing only to increase case life & works fine in my rifle. Wonder if .416 Rigby brass could be run thru .450 Rigby FL sizing die to make .450 Rigby brass if cost-conscious about feeding your rifle.

Well I guess the old saying that everything is for sale for the right price holds true with guns.
Not that I am totally opposed to selling it, now that I have collected dies,brass, factory rounds, and some 500gr bullets, makes it a little harder to let her go lol.
I fired one of the Norma factory 550gr rounds, and loaded up a few 500gr campro spitzers with a lowly 100gr of powder, and you don't need someone to tell you that you pulled the trigger, but I would say it is not violent to shoot, but it does give you a fairly large push.
It is a beautiful handlining rifle in a very cool carriage.

I missed out on a beautiful 416 weatherby deluxe and a matching 378 a couple years ago, went for a discustingly low price. And the pair had exceptional walnut on them.

I had an Empire .450 Rigby carbine, that at one time I thought I might carry guiding grizz. This was around the time I’d seen enough hits to notice a phase shift in performance with impacts ~2200fps and above. That ruled out the .458 Win, and if I was going to step up to .45 from .375 the practical options were the Lott or the Rigby. The Rigby spoke to me more and outperformed the Lott, and I preferred the case design.
In the end for me it was a step too far, I can shoot the .450, but not accurately with speed. I practiced speed shooting and follow ups on separate targets frequently with my guiding rifles and big guns, and my lowest hit percentages were with the .450, especially on the second target. Didn’t help my Empire misfed my preferred bullets too. That was the end of that rifle for me.
But to look at, was a stunner, felt great in the hands too. It’s at far left.
In order: Empire .450 Rigby, Stickhunter’s RSM .505, Douglas’ .470 Nitro 140AE, .375 H&H RSM

I had mine built on a Ruger RSM, prior to Sako chambering the round. Like your self I use mainly Norma ammunition. I took it to Botswana for my buff hunt, but ended up using a 470 double just because. Mine is a tad heavy so recoil isn't fierce. It is the best of the 45 cals for DG IMHO. I have a stock of Norma solids if I ever get back to do a jumbo hunt.

He said $24 a pop after shipping! Looks like a box of 10 to me, but if its a box of 20 thats $480 for a box of ammo. I bet most of us have guns that cost less lol
