I recently sent my tikka t3 laminated stainless back to stoeger Canada for accuracy issues which now have been confirmed by stoeger Canada..... I have the option if upgrading and am having trouble deciding between the 85 finnlight and the 85 synthetic stainless. Plz post ur preferences and why... Thanks in advance

Not much difference. Finnlight has fluted barrel and aluminum bottom on the mag, and a bit lighter, so would be my 1st choice.

I saw that the finnlight has aluminum trigger guard and bottom plate of magazine where as the synthetic stainless is all stainless... And obviously finnlight has fluted barrel... Are there any other differences? Will the aluminum plating be better or worse than stainless?

That's good to hear you have your accuracy problems solved. What was/is the problem and what information did Stoeger convey to you.

They just told me that they cannot achieve the guaranteed 1" moa with any factory ammo... Closest he said he could get was 1.5" and that was " really expensive" ammo... I am glad that this happened however bc after a lot of money on shells I was beginning to think it was me! I consider myself a good shot so am hoping to upgrade but just looking for some opinions from experience. I would however consider a benelli r1 as I've owned one in 300wsm however would still want a 30-06.

Personal preference is the Finnlight..but all the choices mentioned are stellar. If you plan on walking, stalking or are a run&gun the Finnlight is a joy to grab and go.

Finnlight with a McMillan Edge stock on it and you're set! I had both the finnlight in a 25-06 and a plain stainless in a 30-06 but it was nice to have the light weight one. Either way is a great choice and you wont be unhappy with them.

According to stoeger Canada it would be 6-8 months if I were to upgrade to the synthetic stainless which would not be guarenteed so I'm thinking the only choice is going to be a finnlight... There gonna let me know early next week on an eta for a finnlight.

The A7 is a great rifle. Obviously there are some refinements not present due to the lower price point but it is a solid, well built rifle. I have one in stainless and and the action is awesome. Love the soft touch stock too as it doesn't feel cheap like other synthetics. If you're not afraid of a plastic magazine it is definitely worth a look.

Well defineately not afraid of a plastic mag as I've owned 3 Tikkas, however I won't be able to upgrade for a while if I don't now so I think I'm going to end up with the finnlight in 30-06

Ive had an A7 and now I have a finnlight. I prefer the Finnlight only because its prettier. the A7 was lighter. Ive shot a Grey wolf a few times, that one has a Nice laminate stock, makes for a heavier gun, depends on what you are looking for how much recoil you want to endure.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their help.. I talked to stoeger Canada today and the have a 30-06 finnlight in there latest order so I decided to pay the difference and pick it up. Thanks again!!!
