I bought Sako AV in 338 Win Mag with a black synthetic stock with a Sako butt pad on it, from my research it's a Fiberclass with a factory Mcmillan stock.

The problem is the finnish is bad on it from ridding in a scabbard and this wasn't disclosed to me, i'm wondering what the best way to get my money back out is. Shoud I paint the stock and reblue or powdercoat the metal or is it worth more in original condition? The metal is good just the finnish is worn in places.

Those are great rifles. I had the exact same thing - bought it new in the early '90s. I'd just sell it as is, or just refinish it as you like and enjoy it!

It's surplus to my needs as I have a Sako AV in 338 with a Gaillard barrel and Rimrock stock, If I can't get my money back out of it i'll either use it for a build or trade it off.

I've been looking at it and I guess it's really not that bad, i'm more disappointed in the seller than the rifle.
