Hey All;

I own several lever actions, but do not own a Sako Finnwolf. Anyone have any experience with these rifles. I have done some research and they are supposed to be very good lever rifles. Pending on the comments I get from the gang here, it will help me decide if I want to try and find one to add to the gun safe.

Thanks.......:)

The Finnwolf is the Cadillac of the leverguns. My buddy bought one in .308 Win off of an insurance company once for $125... :eek:

they are very high quality. Much nicer than Win Model 88. Crisp, clean, trigger - high quality blueing, etc. Very hard to find. Normally in 308 win. expect to pay around 1k. I've owned 3 of them over the years.

So I take it, it's the Holy Grail of levers, the best of the levers and hard to find. I haev heard alot of good things about them, but never had a chance to actually see one in person. Seen photos of them though, and if I'm not mistaken, it looks to me like they are loosely patterned after the Winchester Model 88.

Don't get me wrong though, I grab one if I could!!

I am a big Sako fan and think the Finnwolf is probably one of the more accurate lever actions along with some BLR's .... but not sure it is the "holy grail" of levers....some might say (at least I would anyway) that that description belongs to the Model 71 Winchester in 348W....of course others "may" differ...

I have one of these babies for sale. Looking at all offers. It is believed to be unfired. I need to confirm that if I can find a gun smith or some one to do this for me. If interested let me know.

I had one for a number of years. A beautiful gun, for sure, but I eventually sold it. I prefer a more traditional lever gun. In a modern lever, I much prefer the BLR.

Gun is unfired, excellent condition-next to mint.
Attached are pics on my gun. I,m not hiding anything- there is a little surface rust on the end of the barrel, a couple of marks in the checkering and a small chip off but plate.
Trying to get an idea of prices, I don't want to give it away but need a decent buck as well. I'm thinking the $1500.00 range.

tjh,
Just so you know, any gun that is "Next to Mint" doesn't have any surface rust, doesn't have marks on the checkering and most definatly doesn't have a CHIP off the butt plate. FS
