I'm seriously looking at the Sako Hunter LH in 30-06. I understand that there may not be a whole lot of people who are lefties so my question is directed at the Sako Hunter in general. Have any of you owned or currently have one? If so what are your feelings about them? Accuracy, smoothness, reliability etc.

Thanks for your opinions.

I have a Sako AV left hand in 30-06 could be the best rifle ever made. It is on the heavy side, If the price is right I would buy it.

The Sako hunter is an awesome rifle. No need to even ask about the smoothness/reliability of the 85 action. They are accurate, smooth, reliable, and a awesome hunting rifle. They are I'd say average weight, not too heavy, not super light.

Great guns, however, they may not be the best value as in that price range there are some other very competitive options. If you have the dough, they are a good choice.

I love my Sako Hunter. It's a good carrying rifle and fits me well. It was reasonably accurate out of the box, but handloading has tightened up the groups to where I'm totally satisfied. Bolt is smooth and it feels like the quality rifle that it is. Fit and finish isn't top notch but not bad by any means. I agree with what Cam said above - if you're planning on dropping 2k on a rifle I would also heft a Cooper (and other premium rifles), and see which one fit's you best.

Cam and West, thanks for your replies. Never heard of a Cooper though. What other's would be in that kind of dollar range?

Thanks,

HA
