Sako M78 .22LR fullstock

Rob has been posting pictures of that rifle for a long time... and when he does, it usually means it is going up in the EE... again. Same reason he keeps the "Mannlicher" thread alive in the Sporting Arms forum... his own private sales ad, which he bumps once a month.

Seems rather intelligent, no?

Nice rifle Rob. Certainly a looker.

In my family it was exactly the opposite. The rifles and shotguns I inherited from the old family ranch were dirty black, encrusted with dried up (motor?) oil and dust on the outside, but with perfect well maintained bores. I shoot my guns and I always clean them. In between, I keep the bores full of long term storage grease. And I have been doing this since 1960, when I was handed down the family .22. Nothing turns me off a gun more than a poorly maintained bore.

You are lucky , my family hand- me-down guns always landed on me for Re & Re , I never once saw my Dad clean or even wipe down a wet gun after hunting.

Yes, that is where I bought it. Another member of this forum tipped me off to it and I luckily beat several others to it. According to the Sako Collectors Club based in the USA, it is a unique factory special or prototype, one of a kind. In the past I offered it a few times for trade. I have several standing cash offers from USA based Sako collectors, but just to be clear....it is not for sale. I just thought some might enjoy looking at it. I know I enjoy looking at many rifles that I have no interest in owning. However, I would like to hear from anyone who knows of another one.

I know I ate some crow over that rifle a number of years ago.
The taste still sits in my mouth, lol, but I still enjoy looking at it.
That would make a Great Stalking Rifle in The Great Gopher Patch ;)
Thanks for the education and for sharing.

I also know Robbie to be a show off ....

There just isn't a facepalm big enough to describe what happened here, this is getting to be pathetic.

On an unrelated side note, thanks for the pictures Rob, I hadn't seen that one - it's a beautiful rifle.

The posted pics of the Sako 78 are beautiful but like Hoytcannon has remarked, Its definately not the first or second or third or ... Iam sure ur following, time these pics have been on this site. If its truly for ur grandson thats great but im not Einstein as everyone on here knows but this guns been for sale on the EE numerous times in the past two years and probably longer. If its really for him quit putting it for sale or take the big US payday you keep braggin bout and pay for his University education!! The gun is definately beautiful and a stunner!!!
