Sako M78 .22LR fullstock

There just isn't a facepalm big enough to describe what happened here, this is getting to be pathetic.

On an unrelated side note, thanks for the pictures Rob, I hadn't seen that one - it's a beautiful rifle.

Meh, same nonsense everywhere. Lots of miserable people out there that have an opinion about everything, like to complain, and pass judgement on others motives in a passive/aggressive and spineless manner. Just have to realize their opinion holds no weight, ignore them, and carry on.

If it’s a high quality photo of a high quality gun I’m happy to see it posted. I don’t mind a re-run every now and then.

Keep the thread up Rob. If for no other reason than to irritate the malcontents.

There's a similar thread about this rifle here https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1813900-###############x

Readers may note that the "please delete" or "######..." in the title doesn't necessarily indicate exasperation or discomfiture because the OP has a lot of threads like that.

The casual reader doesn't recognize what is going on here...

I guess not?

Then again I thought the whole point of CGN was casual. Relax, look at others nice guns, read about others adventures, maybe share a bit of your own, buy/sell/trade things most of us don’t need, and essentially waste time.

For the record I generally enjoy reading what you and Grauhanen put out there. You both seem to have a wealth of experience in many aspects of the sport I do not. But look back in this thread and ask yourself if you’ve really contributed anything of value or if you’ve just been out to unnecessarily tear a guy down.

The mods exist for a reason.

Not for long... they will get deleted like everything else he posts once he makes the sale...

I like the rifle and had I had the disposable cash of his asking price when it was offered in the EE I woulda bought it.
But, alas I bought my second Harley instead.
Rob

Asking price? I have never offered this rifle for sale. And I doubt if I ever will.
I offered it for trade on EE a couple of times, but no one offered anything serious.
Likely my grandson will enjoy it.

I might have put an approximate trade value on it, but it was never for sale for cash. A lot of people complain about "trade-only" items, and I understand that, but offering a fairly desirable rifle as "trade only" is often the only way to get guys to crack open their gun safes. In this case it didn't work. No one offered anything I wanted.

Several years ago I had my spare bike, a Buell with full race kit, up for trade on a local buy and sell site. Among other junk , I was offered a crashed ultralight airplane, a very old horse, a car trailer with flat tires, a rattle-can "restored" 1988 Suzuki, several loads of gravel ...and salmon. None of it tempted me and I was forced to sell for cash. But that was just a spare bike, not a beautiful rare rifle.

If only Eric Buell had gotten more support from the Mothership.....
Rob

My "spare bike" Buell was an early, fairly conventional model with a tube frame. With the full race kit installed, it was quick (...for an air-cooled Harley V-twin...LOL...its all relative...) but also VERY LOUD and with terrible vibration at lower city speeds. However, the later Buell models with the gas in the frame and the oil in the swingarm went right off the rails.

In the gun world, Jeff Cooper's Scout Rifles always reminded me of Buell motorcycles. Both he and Eric Buell came up with a lot of solutions to a lot of non-existent problems.
