I picked up a new set of Sako optilock ringmounts to put on my sako 85 7mm rem mag. I put the rear mount on my gun with no issues. I put the forward one on and tighten it up and no matter what I do it tightens crooked. I then spun the front one around and put it on and it tightens straight has anyone ever had this issue I'm pretty sure they should be on the same

They are tapered to fit the dovetail one way. Its possible they machined the front one the wrong way.

Well I took my scope off and looked at the tapered dovetail on the ring mounts the narrow part is at the back of the scope on both and the wider part is at the front. So having one ring Mount one way and having one the other way on this that is right I wonder if they made these wrong

Lol. What a gong show. First time I've heard of them screwing that up, but I guess everyone makes a lemon from time to time.

If you have time, and it's not too much of a inconvenience, please post a picture. I love to see stuff like this.

I have a set of 1"stainless opti-loc ring mounts on my bench. The rear ring (the one with the pin) is tapered .500" at the back (where the pin is) to .536" at the front. These rings go on with the torx head screw on the right hand side. The front ring is .703" at the back to .740 at the front. Measurements are to the inside of the taper.
I measured the piece that tightens on the rail and these also appear to be tapered by about .003 on each ring.

here is a picture of the 1 piece ringmounts. all my other sako optilock rings and bases have the screws on the same side

I only use the 1-piece ringmounts on all my sako rifles, they all have the tighter on the same side.

You got a lemon, and I would be pissed.

Who knows. I hate dealing with them, but have heard a few guys get good service. They're your only chance, and I'm interested in hearing what they say.
