Sako Optilock Screws?

I've stripped and replaced Sako screws, here's my suggestion. When Stoeger sends you new screws, Install them with a torque limiting screwdriver. I now use a Wheeler "fat" screwdriver and it works very well and no chance of stripping the soft hex socket on the Sako screws. I don't recall the recommended in-lb of torque but it can be looked up on the net.

This is not the first time I've heard about the swiss cheese screws that Sako uses on their scope mounts/rings. I had a high-end Sako QD scope mount that I sold on EE. Turns out the buyer tried to remove the rings and had one hell of a time. It could be a combination of factory loctite and soft metal? I don't know, but I can assure you there are harder screws on the market.
