Sako or Cooper can't decide??

Hey guys I need some advice on what you would do. Im buying a big game and am looking for a quality rig, Ive narrowed my search to 2 rifles. Im looking at a Sako 85 Finnlight for $1600 or a Cooper Xcal. for $2200 (30-06). Both are known for accuracy/quality and think the Cooper has the slight edge but is it worth the $600?? I can throw a Ziess on the Sako for the same price as the Cooper. Sako has the inferior stock but again I could buy a McMillan and still come in at the same price point???
Any thoughts, suggestions? Im not interested in any other rifles but these 2.

I was in the same situation as yourself,and I went with Cooper,however,I much prefer the Jackson Hunter over the Excalibur.I certainly don't regret my decision,as the trigger is great,and the Coopers are delivering very good accuracy for me.The Jackson hunter saves you $200 ,and the Cooper magazines are about half the price of the Sako,so that does cut the price difference.
 
Big $ = Custom IMO

Build one on a Sako AV action :D but I bet you want a drop mag though ;)

Don't like the Finnlite stock on a 85 (75 much better) & the Cooper X don't fit me well, but it's a nice looking rifle. What ever is comfortable in your hands is the one you should buy.

Now if Sako was to build an 85 Fiberclass, then you would have my attention :)

I just got my painted stock back (Brown Precision), now to patiently wait for the barreled action to come back from Teflon ;)

I have a Cooper Excalibur and a Sako, but it's an AV with a Brown Precision stock so not an easy decision.

However, betweeen a Sako 85 Finnlight and a Cooper Excalibur it's pretty easy.......Cooper hands down.
The Cooper isn't a real heavy pig like most seem to think, it has what I would call a normal hunting rifle weight of 7.5 lbs., which isn't excatly in the benchrest gun category...... unless of course you're one of those sheep hunters who cuts the handles off their toothbrush to save weight. :)

My $.02 anyhow.

I was looking at the Jackson hunter as well but am not sure If I like the blued reciever with stainless BBL? Im sure once I got my hands on one I would like it but nobody around here carries them to actually get a hands on look.
What does your Jackson weigh in at? Not them Im overly concerned about weight.

Have had Sako's. You have a 50% chance of getting one that shoots better than 1.5MOA. As Dirty Harry would say "Do you feel lucky". The Weatherby's and Kimber are about the same. All look fancy but no consistent quality anymore. Go with Cooper.
