Sako or Cooper can't decide??

My Jackson weighs in right around 7-3/4lbs bare.

I have three Coopers with a fourth on order, but today,I bought a Sako varmint stainless in .223,only because Cooper does not make a .223 repeater. As usual,I bought the Sako from Clay. That makes it six guns bought from Prophet River.

I think most gun dealers should learn to do business like Clay not only are his prices fair and ships for free but he also has customer service which 90% of stores and dealers lack.
Im not at 6...I wish but this will be my second and plan on buying more!!

Cheers!!

factory Sako synthetics SUCK. They are just as crappy as an SPS stock. And unless you dig the dirty old Monte Carlo cheek of the Sako 75 you are SOL for a real synthetic for the Sako 85.

As far as I'm concerned with the Sako 85 you have 4 choices;

Standard Sako Synthetic (plastic junk)
McMillan Sako 75 pattern (ugly and a PITA to order)
Walnut (too nice, prone to weather...apparently you're #### will fall off if it rains)
Laminate (gorgeous but heavy as sin)

Can't believe with all these Cooper fans here nobody posted pics:confused:

I see Clay has updated his Cooper threads. Absolutely stunning is all I can say. That new custom classic in 20 VT is as close to perfection esthetically as I can imagine. Life's too short to hunt with and ugly gun and these Coopers are anything but ugly. ;)
even the synthetics are nice looking guns. For those that like walnut; better check out this thread!

That is a real beauty. I just bought a Classic from Clay and he is awesome to deal with.

This might be too pretty to take in the bush, but I sure like the tiger striping in mine, go cooper

a jackson hunter would sure do the trick, and not have to worry about scratches, also comes with an accuracy guarantee

The Jackson Hunter has become my favorite rifle to shoot.I have two in 280AI,one in 22lr and one on the way in 17Mach2.below is one of my 280AI rifles.

Curious why own the same rifle rifle in the same cal.? Backup gun?

Two big game rifles with identical chambering and scopes, only one sight in,and only one trajectory to learn, and the sight picture is identical for judging holdover.
I usually travel 6 hours or more to get to my hunt location,so I want a backup. If something goes wrong with a gun or a scope,I use the second rifle.

Just from general experiance the extra $400 spent on the cooper will help you when you go to sell it down the line. Don't get me wrong I love SAKOS as I own 3 different models, fortunately for me they were made in small amounts and are worth more than they cost to buy new! I want a Cooper so bad, unfortunately I can't order right now as I am saving up for all the extras I am going to order, may take a couple years of savingR:d: And my friend has dealt with clay for years and says he is #1 in dealing with, in the end do you want a semi custom Cooper or a factory gun from Sako, it is a hard decision but either way you will have a great rifle in the end,Dale in T-Bay:yingyang:
