Sako or Cooper can't decide??

The only problem with Cooper is their limited selection of actions. They need to produce a stainless action,a magnum action, and make their varmint models in repeaters.

Geez and they don't make a tacticool sniper rifle either:cool: Just kiddin ya sj:p But you have a list of options that is second to none unless you go true custom. How many outfits have a Niedner buttplate or custom twists on the spec sheet? Or AI and other cool chamberings. I don't know anywhere we can buy AI's off the shelf except from Clay who is the absolute worst enabler on here.;) I am having nightmares about watching highly desireable Coopers disappearing before my eyes:eek:R:d:

I know how you feel.I am going to drive down to pick up my 17Mach2 ammunition from Clay when it arrives, but I am afraid of being tempted yet again when I am in his store.:)For now,I have myself convinced that I don't need any more guns.

Lucky for me,I am not tempted by fancy wood or metal work.If I was,I would be broke.:D

Why is that? Ive seen a few guys have them on 24hr Campfire? Long wait times?

Cheers!!

Technically you need to send your gun in for lug fitting. We can't do that here in Kanada. So you need to scour 24HR and wait till someone sends theres in and get an extra stock made, then hopefully that guys Sako was the same dimensions as yours.

oh I see, given time I imagine they will have the stock easily available?

No. I've spoken to Ryan Melancon from McMillan, and he said they won't be upgrading their programming or buying any 85 rifles, as Sako changes their actions too much. They haven't recouped their investment for the Sako 75 action yet, and its discontinued now.

Sako goes to a new action every ten years (sometimes less). Something like $40K investment...In 10 years they went from the 75 to the 85 and now the A7...

They will continue to fit the 85 actions to their Sako Hunter mould, but to do that they need to have the action. Since 99% of their business is in the US, they aren't too concerned about guys having to send their rifles in...If you want one, they will contact you when someone has sent in a rifle the same as yours and they will fit it for 2 stocks at that time.

Buy the one that fits you best and feels the best as that will be the most accurate for you. Both great rifles and neither will disappoint.

Well i Have a Sako 75 finnlight in 300wsm. I wouldn't buy another Sako again. Mine shoots 1-1 1/2 inch group. Its not consistent. Stoegers attitude sucks ass. They said they couldnt do anything for me. So I would buy a cooper.

From what I have seen Cooper stands behind their product and Clay will back you up 1000%.

I can attest to that.I had a small issue with a Cooper rifle, and Clay took care of everything. He even loaned me a new replacement Cooper for an upcoming hunt because my rifle was not yet back from Cooper. As for Cooper themselves,a customer service person called me to discuss the issue, and they then did work on the gun to correct the problem.

I've had many Sako's over the years now. Out of the ones that have passed through my hands 2 Sako's & 1 Tikka did not make the grade. Both Sako's were 75 Finnlites (25/06 & 300WSM), the Tikka was a T3 (22-250).

I did have a 7mm Rem Mag Finnlite that was very accurate :D

I never tried to deal with Stoeger on the faulty rifles I simply traded them or sold them.

I feel for the price of a new Sako 85, I can find a good AV action on the EE as a doner & build a nice custom for the same $.

Coopers are very nice I must admit, but my sig line says it all ;)

Thats weird as I have noticed ALOT of Model 75 Finnlites in ,300WSM for sale in the EE over the past year...maybe someone was snoozing when they should have been hammer forging

Not only Finnlites but the board is packed with Model 75's. Its too bad guys want more then what they paid for them though or close to it.

Cheers!!
