Sako Quad - Acurate??

I'll let you know next week. I just received one and my Leupold 3-9x33 EFR won't be in until some time next week. I'm fighting the urge put my old Legend on it to take it out in the interm. I don't think I can wait that long. My initial impressions are that it is a very nice rifle with the slickest mag I've seen on a rimfire.

No, average, lite, smaller is better, and no.....

We put the quad through its paces on the range one league night at BRRC. Well made, smooth and the gun is accurate with Lapua Super Club, but its really, really light. The synthetic stock "felt" like it weighed nothing. Trigger was acceptable, not measured, but thought to be about 3lbs.

As for scopes...smaller is better, because with any standard lenght scope, you'll have to dismount it (and thus re-zero) to swap barrels. The dedicated Burris quad-calibre scope is short enough to let you cantilever barrels in and out of the receiver without dismounting it.

My overall impression....not worth the msrp price. For the same prices as a Quad with 4 barrels, you could just about have 4 MarkII BVS in each calibre.

Now if you find one used for a good deal...buy it.

I know where you can get a new one in Mach2 for $600.00, but they aren't a board sponsor so you would have to PM me. In the States I've seen references to them selling (.22cal) for under $500.00 so I think the MSRP in Canada is way too high.
