I’m glad this old thread popped up. Looking at getting one myself as a “nice looking rifle” type thing.

Have a couple of photos, but one of them has a dead gopher beside the rifle. lol (=true)

I'd never held one until the summer of 2023 in S. Alberta. A buddy's rifle, wasn't that interested tbh. Looked big/bulky, heavy. It doesn't feel that way in the hands, and it was a riot shooting offhand with it. Felt like it balanced well for a rifle of that size, loved the mags, and gophers didn't stand a chance.

I was shopping for a SAKO 22LR within a few weeks.

I swapped the Diamondback for a Venom 5x25x56 and the bolt handle for a DIP one.
Really great improvements.
