SAKO Quad

Nice gun. I had one in 17Hmr with a non-heavy bbl and it shot less than 3/4" groups at 100 yards. I bit fussy about ammo but it was a shooter. Very light gun in synthetic form and the bolt was slick. It almost felt like a kids gun because of the size and weight. Expensive to buy, most places it is $900 and up.

Gagnon's in Oshawa shows a used one on their website. All four barrels, cased, with the Burris Quad scope, around 1500 bucks IIRC. Looked like a good deal.

My friend paid 800 for a brand new synthetic .17hmr from canadian tire in kenora, so forgive me if im cheap when it comes to dropping 1500-2000 on one even if it has four barrels. 3 of which I will never use. Thanks for the input so far tho guys. Its this or a CZ varmint.

Your friend got a deal Can tire was blowing them out. Put the other barrels up for sale In The ee and you too will likely onlybe into it for 800.

I got the 4 barrel synthetic version about 4 years ago and its a class act.

Pro's: Quality, flexibility, trigger, accuracy is sharp and the dedicated scope is useful.

Con's: Price / after market options / Sako options (limited / pricey / and hard to obtain) and its not 'man size'!

I really like it, and love the ability to switch between .22LR / Mach 2 + .177HMR in a single shooting session.

But, I get a bit disappointed on the difficulty on getting accessories. Sako (Stoeger) don't seem very dealer friendly here in Van Isle, so I still cannot obtain something simple like the stock spacers. Also there is a small circle of specialist dealers who do accessories, most are US based, so there is always the import issue to over come.

Apart from that, its a class act, and my most versatile rifle. A really good fun to shoot. (I am getting addicted to Mach 2 for grouse hunting, like a laser over 125 meteres.)
