Sako Safari .375 H&H.......Now Restocked........Photos Up

Ardent has seriously upstaged me on his thread with his Holland double 375. My Sako Safari is a cut above normal or even custom, however it will never be in the same class as his Holland.............what can I say, good for you Ardent !!! Of course mine didn't cost the price of a new deluxe dually diesel pick up either............

c-fmbi - I was just thinking earlier today that both you and Ardent posted some seriously fine kit, and especially Ardent's H&H is such that CGN may have reached the pinnacle and it's all downhill from here!

Actually, it's always downhill here. One could argue that Douglas and Angus just hijacked the downward spiral!

'bout time for one of these?

Does this stock maker leave a trade mark or initial on his stocks? Just curious if I may have one of his creations on a L61R that's in my safe...

Nice stock you got there :)
A man can't put a dollar figure on happiness , only a divorce lawyer or prostitute can :D

It's the SOMA way, we embrace the downward spiral. Every trip is more fun in a storm.

Doesn't detract in the slightest, nicest Sako I've seen and a rare model even before the beautiful stocking!

Fine piece of hunting equipment and as previous poster mentioned - if left in my hands would look like a well used canoe paddle.

I would have to leave it in the safe. Question though: why the cross bolt delete, stronger wood?

Had to run these pics by y'alls one more time.

Am not really qualified to comment here, but here goes ...

Is not the Rigby tapered forend tip made as it is for a purpose?.
Getting ones rifle snagged in the wait-a-bit or jess, which of course would only ever happen at the worst possible second, that could ruin one's whole day.

Stockmaker did a masterfull job of integrating the drop mag's belly into the forend's sleek lines.
Outstanding rifle c-fbmi. Sincerest congratulations.

Only way it could be finer? ... Brevex Mauser action .. just :p'n.

Beautifull !!!!!.

I posted a thread many months ago, when I purchased this rifle, showing one of the rifles I had been on a search for, for many years and was finally able to secure one. A comment was made that for the money one would have thought that it should have nicer wood. After looking long and hard at it I came to the same conclusion. I dropped it off with a well known stockmaker in Taylor B.C. a little over a year ago and have waited in anticipation since. He called a month or so ago and told me it was done, so last trip through I stopped in and picked it up. Here's the photos of the finished product.

Comments and opinions welcome.........do you guys like the British style forend tip or do you like the more straight and rounded American classic style?
