SAKO TRG-22 vs. PGW Coyote

I have a TRG-22 and love it but never fired a PGW Coyote so I can't comment on how they compare.

One thing to consider, 3 PGW Coyote's in the exchange forum currently with one of them being in there for a couple months now and another one offering a "payment plan".

Last TRG-22 to go up for sale in the exchange forum sold in under a week, there are currently no TRG-22's in the exchange forum up for sale and there is often a WTB looking for a TRG-22. Something to consider.

However that being said, the PGW is the new cool gun on the block... everyone seems to want one, but few spend the money to get one. TRG's are common place by comparison.
There is/or was recently a TRG 21 for quite a while in the EE for a great price.

A year ago, I did a cost comparison among TRG-22, Coyote and AI AW308. TRG-22 was the cheapest setup to get what I want. The most expensive was AI AW. However, AI has the AT series now so AI may be more competitive in pricing now.

Ended up shooting them side by side and liked the Coyote more, but got some advice saying to buy a 700 and learn precision from there and then move up to the big leagues.

Nah, dont settle for something you don't really want. Go for the shiny toy and be happy.

Have you thought about contacting the guys at Alberta Tactical Rifle Supply? They are great to work with and will build you a rifle based around what you want, not on what they have available. You can choose your action, barrel, trigger, chassis and caliber and get a rifle that is totally custom for you.

Try giving them a call. It can't hurt.

Here is one they built for me:
.260 Rem
Remington 700 Action
22" Heavy Varmint Lilja Barrel
Timney trigger
Accuracy International AX Chassis
