TSC's website is overloaded due to HG sales I suspect....15G's for a naked TRG? if naked, then the price to DND will be way more. they are getting complete deployment kits. depending on optics and cans and mags and how many caliber options included, parts, training, maintenance schedules, etc etc they could be 15-25G's per gun, maybe more.

I've heard nothing but rumor and hearsay so far, but consensus was that the price was a "package price", so for $15k per unit that would include some degree of extras. Including training for armorers and spare parts kits for the guns, as well as the design documents to be able to reproduce the rifle in the event that Sako can no longer provide the rifles and parts themselves.
 
It’s just my opinion, but it’s pretty sad when we have not one but two CANADIAN companies that make sniper rifles. I owned a TRG that was a fine rifle but my PGW and all my shooting buddies PGWs are superior. The few Canadian snipers I’ve shot with loved their PGWs. I haven’t owned a Cadex but know lots that do and speak highly of them. Let’s support foreign companies while ours at home struggle to stay afloat. Fxxking ridiculous!!

The problem with PGW is they never seemed interested in updating their rifles. They seemed happy to be stuck in the precision rifle world of the mid 2000's, while everyone was innovating and evolving around them. If PGW didn't stay so stagnant in their designs, I imagine they would be in a better place than they are now.

I'm also surprised about Cadex. They seem to be really dialed in for government contracts. Plus they are a Quebec company.

Just my opinions of course. I would love to see a more modern and competitive brand in PGW. Their models are iconic, but in need of a "refreshment".
 
I know ur well educated and seasoned cuz Ive read many of ur posts. Just out of curiosity have you ever owned any of the rifles Ive mentioned? Im pretty sure the snipers from CSOR and JTF2 that Ive met wouldnt really care about new fangled but proven guns built like tanks and serviceable by the makers in CANADA. We are not talking about a PRS match but crawling around in an unfriendly enviroment taking out hostile targets that will kill you givin the chance. Those fellas I had the fortune to meet couldnt express how happy they were with the PGW rifles when I mentioned them! As far as updating a sniper rifle goes Ive always been a firm believer in "Why fix something thats not broken". If I have a gun thatll put the first bullet as well as all the remainder in the mag thru the same ragged hole, Well Im not gonna complain. PGW has it hands down. PERIOD

My thoughts exactly. One doesn’t even have to mention that this went through the CF’s procurement process…..
At least it won’t be that bad to order some proper-length barrels for them in the future, installation being so easy with the caliber change system.

AI is in the same market as PGW - look how much they've evolved while PGW became stagnant.

One company is thriving with a plethora of gov contracts and one is clinging on to life.

You're going to get passed by if you stay stagnant. Everything evolves, and that includes shooting and the associated equipment. Look at how much sniper equipment has evolved over the decades.
