I've read some threads from other sites & there seems to be a common occurrence with these stocks cracking for no apparent reason (over abuse) . The TRG-S that I now own had its stock replaced for the same reason & unfortunately with the same model. I will not restock it until I have to but is there a good replacement stock for the M-995 (Lapua) action being that the recoil lug is in the stock not on the action & of course how much$$$ I looked up HS Per. but they do not list the 995 in their offering for sako's, would I need to find new bottom metal ??? Let me know what you all know thanks :nest::runaway:

Yes mcmillan makes them and yes you need to buy bottom metal. I have a muzzle brake on mine, hopefully that will help tame the recoil enough to save the stock.

Thanks Kimberman as I am doing the same adding a brake I also found out that there was a recall for those actions due to a firing pin issue though there was only two accidents with this action do you know much about this???

I have a TRG-s in 30.06. Had it for years, it's my main hunter/ shooter. Nothing has happened to it yet...knock on wood. I've never heard of any recalls or cracking problems...please do tell.
