The 300 WSM took this guy at 461 yards. The newer finlight might be in my future for further sheep hunts. The 75's are great but maybe a touch heavy at 10.5 lbs ready to go for do it yourself sheep hunts

Doesn't matter which one I pick up to take out, they are all fantastic rifles.

That's a beautiful rifle and one heck of a good group!

Thanks. Every Sako I have had is super accurate. This 260 has been awesome since the day I bought it, and almost anything I load for it shoots great. That particular load I only use for paper. I have a great load with 130gr Bergers for deer, and another with 95gr vmax's for coyotes.

Fire306 what are you going to customize your m995?

It's a long story, here's a condensed version. I was going to customize the Sako 75 in STW that I just sold. So, I purchased the m995 to be my "stock" STW. When I received the m995, I quickly realized that it had been tampered with, the barrel has been setback, but the chamber was not reamed properly. Head spacing is way out. So I decided to make it my donor for a custom. I have a Krieger SS barrel in #6 contour for it. A JP Enterprises muzzle brake.

I have a Whiskey 3 Chassis from Kinetic Research ordered for it.

I'm planning for a nightforce to top it, but haven't decided yet.
I was going to keep the 75 in STW as well, but then I found the Deluxe in 300 WSM which will work very nice for a moose hunting caliber. So I decided to sell the Stainless 75 to a fellow gunnutter. The 7mm STW has become one of my favourite calibers to play with.

What Caliber is your m995?

Mine is a .270 Winchester. I bought it brand new 13 years ago. I keep searching the web for more information on them, I want to eventually switch to a wooden stock.

Good luck finding a wood stock. I think you would have to find someone to custom make it for you. They are great rifles, just there is very few options for aftermarket stuff. I think mainly due to the recoil lug design, or lack of recoil lug design. Mine has what appears to be a factory muzzle brake. I have been told that they never came with a brake, but I have also been told that a limited number of the magnum models did have a factory brake.
I would like to find one like yours with the smaller bolt face, to build a custom 260 off the action.

Iv been looking for options to make my own stock, or buy one thats not inletted.I don't mind waiting the time. I'm just tired of the factory stock and no one around here will offer any more than $500 for it. They always say " well I can get an axis for under 500 new"
