Sale to the public of surplus Canadian Forces Browning pistols will be considered

By 2026 they will be so shot out that they will not be worth much for anything - other than an interesting addition to the collection.

I left the military in 1966. The pistols we were issued were worn out old rattle traps even back then. I find it hard to imagine that they would have any value other than as a paper weight.

Agreed, but I'm sentimental. I'd buy one in a heartbeat :). All pistols are paperweights that we are allowed bring to the range and test.

Only ones that would interest me would be Inglis made MkII. Chances of finding one of those surplused with original parts would be infestismal, even if you would settle for one with replacement magazines. This assumes that the price would be no more than I could buy a brand new Browning for. I too, would gladly buy a Long Branch Mk VII like the ones I used to shoot in secondary school cadets. Still wishing I had contacted the guy from Smooth Rock Falls, who had one for sale, on the EE that he only wanted to sell if it were picked up locally. I keep having difficulty with the idea of paying over $1000 for a single shot .22. Trouble with getting old is you still remember when hamburgers were $.25 and pop was $.05. Everybody is cheap in their own way.
