Well, despite waking up to an absolute nightmare (truck b&e'd Grandpas 22, my bow and binos, and a drybox full of ammo stolen, along with my tags) i somehow managed to put together a good day of hunting for me and the Mrs.
She started the day by missing a shot at a decent sized black bear, then shortly afterwards failed to see the 150-160 class whitetail i was looking at in my scope (no binos, and i had to judge game somehow
) I would have pointed that one out with a bullet, but the stolen tags, GRRRRRR!
Then, as we were conteplating taking our lunch break, she was given an opportunity to fill her supplemental doe tag. Well she made no mistake, and her little model 7 barked out a 260 bullet and down she went. I'm kinda thinking that i may have to swap out the 120 gr ballistic tips for something a little less explosive, neckshot turned into major bleedout and alot of damage.
Although all my tags were gone, because of the Albertarelm site, i was able to reprint my wildlife certificate and gamebird, so at least i would be able to whack a chicken, which i did, and it felt good for some reason. Also, the day was reliveing, as i was able to prove to the wife that i know how to hunt (proof is in the critters i got her on), she may have been doubting me after the week long trip i took at the beginning of the month that yeilded nothing.
