Well here's the gfs Christmas present. Haven't shot it yet but initial impressions are pretty good. Keep in my mind im a 1911 newb and im comparing it to my kimber. Trigger has a fair amount of creep but nothing excessive. It breaks clean. I'd guess its somewhere around the 8lbish mark. Fit and finish is very good in my opinion. Didnt really see any rough finish marks on it or any sharp edges. One thing that was odd that when we went to take it apart, after turning the barrel bushing the recoil spring and plug did not come out. Didnt worry to much just took it apart the harder way. I was able to get the plug out just pushed it out with a small wooden dowel. I didnt see any burs or anything in the slide or on the plug. Any ideas? Well here's some pics.

Ya I'm very impressed it with it, and she absolutely loves the thing. Even took it apart and put it back together with no idiot marks. She just got her RPAL and is waiting for it to come in the mail. So technically right now it's mine, I wish I could keep it that way. Just have to buy one myself. I'm gonna try to get it out to the range as soon as we can and I will be sure to post my initial thoughts.

I'm also curious how these SAM 1911s stack up against the norincos. Anyone have both that could comment on them?

Light years ahead of the norinco fit and finish from my experience. I own a SAM commander 45 and have shot and handled several norincos. I will be buying atleast one more SAM!

My experience is similar with a SAM Commander,look forward to a range report of the Stainless version.
The stuck plug will probably loosen with repeated use or you could use some fine emery cloth to take a bit of metal off,had the same problem with an original Colt 1911.
