Hello again Rifle guru's!

Been doing some more looking around and hopefully you all can help me again.

I am looking at a few rifles from Samco Global Arms and am wondering if any of you have had any experiences or knowledge of their business. Again, any input is greatly appreciated.

You all helped me to avoid Mitchell's Mausers due to near fraud-like advertising. Hopefully Samco is more on the level and accurate.

Thanks all,

KG

Samco is honest, but depends on what you are looking at. Avoid the swedish M-96 snipers, because they are at the bottom of the barrel and the guns left are pretty much assembled from parts (unfortunately all the nice matching pieces are long gone).

I have ordered several guns over the years from Samco. I have a couple Persian Mausers and some swedes. Those were bought over 10 years ago, so you can guess the condition of those that are left as they sold the best ones (brand new with test target from CZ) first.

Wow. No matter where I look for some WW2 Snipers, I just can't get a break. Any advice from those who own and collect?

Educate yourself. Read, study and read some more. Go to gun shows and auctions just to observe. Did I mention that you must read? Go to milsurps.com and read.
There are put together rifles and out and out fakes out there. Buyer beware. Which means EDUCATE youself.IMHO

"...look for some WW2 Snipers...can't get a break..." High demand. Low supply. The prices of real sniper rifles has gone up well over 1,000% in the last 25 years. My 1903A4 sans scope cost me $175Cdn in the early 80's. At the time, issue scopes were running around $200US, if you could find one. That was more than a week's pay then.
Like Pete says, there are a lot of fakes out there at 'real' prices. Some people think that just scoping a milsurp rifle makes it a sniper rifle. It doesn't. It just ruins the value of the standard rifle.
I wouldn't count on Samco being willing to ship to Canada any more. You'd best ask them first.

Thanks guys. Not exactly the news I want to hear, but I ought to. I do educate myself. I read up for a month before I bother even looking online. Gun shows around Edmonton are sparse at best...

Guess I'll keep looking and hoping.
