Same old, same old.

South Carolina, I belive.

ROTFLMAO!!!!! BURN!!!!

At least Winchester has their wits about them now. Having 75+ different varieties to pick from is just competing against yourself. Savage has accuracy but decided that they needed to get better and came out with the accu-trigger. And Ruger has now figured out how to make a synthetic stock that doesn't look like a boat paddle. I think that Browning will be next on the list of "Time to make a change."

Now honestly I'm just razzing you about Remington. I could care less what anyone else prefers and I'll even say that the new X-trigger might be just what Remington needed to catch my attention. Now if I could just forget what they said about canadian firearms consumers...... Of course Ruger, Robinson also have Zumboian disease.... Guess I'll just have to keep buying Winchesters beauties and Savage tack drivers. ;)

I'm wondering why that is. The number of missing in action seems quite high.

Are you kidding?

My guess is they got tired of threads about how one bulk pack of 22 ammo is 79¢ cheaper than another.

Or threads that have "best" in the title.

Or perhaps they waited as long as they could for the board to evolve. For it to change a bit to accomodate their specific interests.

But my guess is the 22 ammo.......;)

it is bound to happen. the rifle industry is based currently on reinventing the wheel, over and over and over again. as far as rifle vs. animal the industry has long since reached an apex.

personnaly I'd much rather see (and it would give us much more to talk about) companies stop try to sell me things that fix problems that never existed (gadgets) or "new" guns that will my my animal MORE dead and foculs on clothing or footware, and animal behavior and the science of the hunt.

I would love to learn more about my quarry. putting bullets in them is easy and ultimately boring, the smallest part of the hunt. finding them, and understanding/predicting them, so much more to know. toss in hunter education and marksmanship.

I really think the advent of "magnum marketing" has been a very negative influence on hunting overall. lots of guys buying guns they can't handle, and overall wasteful.

and i like comfortable boots :D

Best "debate" I get going with the boys, after a few drinks of course, is:

single shot vs bolt action vs auto loader

and then

obsolete vs common vs magnum vs custom ammo

throw in some moose hunting is for rednecks, real hunters only shoot sheep..
and ya got a good conversation/thread.

I say milsurp bubba hunting rifle that you know and love, with custom handloads, and if it moves, shoot it. Real hunters put meat in the freezer, trophy hunters are just yuppies with their wires crossed:evil:
and when I'm real adventurous I use a BAR in 338 win mag just in case that critter makes a run for it. If I want a single shot I'll pull out the 'ol Cooey Mod 39. And Black rifles make great hunting guns.

I hope this can stir the pot a bit.
