I'm looking at upgrading my 22 (Cooey single-shot, open sights, no scope mounts) and wondering what to prioritize. I like the idea of it being closer to my 308 Ruger American (4-16 scope) so I don't need to practice with that so much if I'm using the 22 regularly. (I'm moving provinces a see more small game, less big game in my future.)
Do folks think it would pay off to get a Ruger American in 22 LR? Would it still pay off if it had something like a 2-7 scope on it, or would more similar optics be more important for practice to carry over?
