Super super super tight out of the box, finish is incredible. The gun weighs and feels like a Springfield or better. These feel custom fitted, I mean, seriously.

Popped on some magpul thin profile grips and shot a box of .45. Very smooth and accurate, great bargain at this price. Everyone at the range came over and dropped their jaws.

Keep 'er oiled with breakfree and she'll look like a prom queen for all her days.

They are hand fit by skilled tradesmen.
The only thing I'm not fond of is how sharp the front checkering is...needs to be smoothed out a bit for me. Springs are pretty weak and poor quality in these as well and should be changed out for Wolff or other decent quality springs.

It has everything im looking for in a 1911 right now
Front serrations
Front strap checkering
Flat mainspring housing
Adjustable sight

The only im not looking for is a ss finish and a .45 but other then that shes what I want, I love the sams and miss the one my wife had.

I love how sharp the front is. It's barely enough to dig in yet not chew your hand.

A magpul grip combo works amazing with this gun.

Same here, I'm thinking of picking one up to use for a 460 Rowland build.

The slide serrations are great for shaving the callous off my thumb too. ;)

Thinking of gently dehorning mine..

Anything with an S&A type magwell needs S&A cut grips to look right....

Just my eyes HO of course

I have the same pistol they are underrated as far as I am concerned. Yes super tight out of the box too! I would love a Thunderbolt in 9mm too! I sent them a letter requesting a Thunderbolt in 9mm maybe if a few guys do that it will happen!

do NOT use a SAM for a Rowland conversion!
i called Wolverine and they called SAM and they confirmed that the SAMs are spot heat treated which is a HUGE NO NO from what the lads at Rowland are saying.
i was gonna go the same route since i like my SAM so much until i got that information, so went with a Norc for my Rowland build.
shame, the SAMs are so much nicer.

Damn, I want to use a 1911 with a textured front strap, guess it's back to a Kimber or Sig.
