Hey Guys,
I am looking for a sandblasting cabinet (my first) and I need advice. The two that I am currently looking at are;
TP Tools USA 960-T Pro Trig Sand Blaster Sandblast Cabinet
Grizzly 400279 Blast Cabinet, 24 x 37-Inch

Tips or comments welcome!

Thanks,

i picked mine up from Canadian Tire. remember that when you are blasting a firearm to account for the length of the receiver and the barrel and that you will need some wiggle room in the cabinet to be able to get all the surfaces on the fire arm.

I cut a hole in one end of my cabinet, and installed a piece of rubber with an "X" sliced in it. Poke the barrel or barrelled action through, do half, then reverse it.

I was planning on using one side as a potential "extension port" by either making a sleeve or building a box to attach to it. Compressor is not a problem... I got that one covered :). Mostly looking for feedback on a potential cabinet/vaccum.

how much use will it receive ? once or twice a year or every other day? TSC has a big red one for a reasonable price also princess auto.
you can use a piece of home heating duct to build a longer box on the end for barrelled actions.

I used a 36" for my first couple years in conjunction with a shop vac. I works great unless you do a lot of rifles or shotguns like I do, and why I finally upgraded to 48" model of much higher quality. I now have a 36 " cabinet I need to sell. Don't bother with the smaller ones.

I now use a Mod U Blast. It is made in Canada and sold through Manus Abrasives. I bought a Offshore copy of this cabinet from KMS Tools and it was a complete and total piece of Crap. Not to mention the electric motor for the vacuum was wired for European power. No amount of offered discount made this acceptable. Also never buy a floor model anything.
