Sandblasted Stag 10 Reciever?

I believe the OP is mistaking a light spray of cerakote on the inside of the receiver for something else.

This seems to be correct. What appears to be sandblasted metal could possibly be a light coat of cerakote, that has the look and finish of sandblasted aluminum. But if these were not sandblasted then it has to be cerakote.

It is cerakote.

Weren't these FDE receiver sets sold as blems? Why are people surprised that they don't have prestine finish?

There might be something missing from the story ...
Several seem to have seen or heard of blemished parts being sold and when advertised as such thats full disclosure by a retailer.
I wonder if some are being resold to unsuspecting folks ...

This is exactly the case. Having purchase one of these sets, that is exactly what I found. Much ado about nothing.

Also, cerakote is not the same as anodizing.

So much fake news.
Bare aluminum needs to be sandblasted before cerakoting.
Anodizing does not. Right from Cerakote.
My first factory cerakoted AR was an Aero Precision, the coating on the inside of the upper made the Ni-Boron bolt glide.
I have duplicated this several times with good results, smooth.
The cerakoting will wear to make a smoother action.
I like to keep the anodizing as a hardened substrate as I think the two compliment each other.

I also have an MDT chassis that is only Cerakoted and surprise, surprise it has not turned to dust.

These Stags look like a good deal.
