Sanding the chamber on a shotgun

Polishing and deburring the chamber, lifter, throat of mag tube and internal moving parts made a lot of difference to the smoothness of my two Remlin leverguns.
I'm sure it would improve cycling and functioning of a shotgun as well.

The wool is approx same hardness as barrel or softer.... and it is a soft backed abrasive
Eg.. put abrasive compound on a soft cotton cloth and abrasive on a oak wooden dowel ( compare which abrades faster )
The soft back abrasive is way less aggressive

The steel wool just abrades at a very very slow pace if at all.... however it is harder than iron oxide and will remove this
.. another is pumice powder 4f will remove rust ..if used with a soft cotton cloth, wont be too aggressive

The problem with trying to correct a wonky chamber with steel wool is it 'polishes' all the 'ridges and valleys' equally... not just removing ridges...

I agree completely.. it would be like using a felt wheel

It maybe just a wee rough spot in the chamber.. myself id try figure out what it is before doing anything
.. maybe even color the tight shotgun shell with black marker, fire the shot and then observe any drag marks on the shell.
Ofcourse leave an index mark on shell rim and side of chamber so you can locate problem area
