Hi there, does anyone have some suggestions for sanding the feed lips of ProMag 9-22 magazines to actually make it feed reliably? I recently purchased one of these magazines and it won't cycle a round into the chamber at all :S I sanded some excess polymer from the mouth of the magazine and I've tried tweaking the magazine spring and feed control spring but to no avail...it seems the follower sits too low and it basically crams the first round into the bottom of the breech, thus causing a malfunction :S Has anyone had the same issue? If so, your input would be greatly appreciated!

Replacement feed lips can be got through Hi Cal and if your follower is sitting too low, as you claim, sanding your feed lips won't improve things... might make it worse.

I wouldn't modify the mag before exhausting all other possibilities including trying different brands/ types of ammo.

I have three of these mags and have zero feed issues (Gen1 x1 and Gen2 x2). However most semi .22 rifles can be fussy for ammo. Mine runs like a top with CCI Blazer but is tempermental with Federal ammo, cranky with Remingtom ammo, and absolutely hates... HATES! Winchester ammo (jams every round). It also gets cranky with anything hollow point.
So before modifying these anymore (assuming you've not gone too far already), try different ammo.

My 10/22 runs just fine with bricks of Winchester 555...I've ran thousands of rounds through it with Butler Creek Steel Lips magazines and the factory magazine and I've never experienced a malfunction, so I know it's not the gun or the ammunition, it's the magazine itself. When I took it out of the packaging it had excess polymer right at the mouth of the magazine that wouldn't even allow the bolt to fully close...so I sanded it down to roughly match that of the Butler Creek's I have and it still wouldn't feed properly. Perhaps I just have a defective magazine, but I certainly won't be purchasing another ProMag :( Which is a shame because they look amazing compared to anything else on the market.

idk if you've tried this yet, but don't put the mag in with the bolt closed as mention in the instructions. They take some time to break in
