SAO (Single Action Only) Advantages/Disadvantages in a 1911? Any Sig 1911 reviews

LOL, bastard! Haha. I should have a Sig 1911 Target Nitron in about 10 days if all goes well with the SATT. I think I'm going to add a magwell so the bobtail wouldn't have worked out. Can't just have one 1911 anyway. I'll add a Nightmare Carry later on. :)

Good choice. Lots of Sig 1911's around now !!! Damn....i want another one.

It seems to me that the Sig 1911's in 45 don't have much differences, besides the sights, finish and grips. I think if you buy one for $899 or $1400 you will be happy with it. I'm itching to get mine, when it comes in a few months. I am sure it'll be worth the wait.

IIRC the more expensive 1911 Sig's also have a match grade barrel.

That's what I thought until I read this on the Sig Sauer website:

"Like all SIG SAUER products the 1911 contains only premium internal parts including a match grade barrel, hammer/sear set and trigger."

All their 1911's are identical internally, from what that says... unless you can take it a different way. It is listed for the cheapest 1911 as well, the XO model at $899.

The thing that has always kept me from a Sig 1911 is the cut of the slide and compatibility with holsters. What do people use? A pistol without a holster is a bit useless to me.

Those SIGs are also coming in "traditional" shape - option that resolves problem with the holster.
BTW now they starting using MIM parts on the internals as well, just less than the competition I believe.

There is a kit that comes with a holster/mag pouch/non-railed 1911 and another that adds a laser and a railed pistol. The TACPAC package, for $937 & $999 respectively. Here is the link to the $937 package at forum sponsor, Questar:

Search for the railed version with a laser included. Another CGN'r made a thread not long ago about his TACPAC package here:

Isn't that Sig holster like the Blackhawk Serpa design? Are approved for IPSC or IDPA?

Found a source for leather Sig 1911 holsters: htt p://www.highnoonholster.com

Also read read that Safariland 5187 works as well. Bladetech also offers holsters for the Sig 1911. Uncle Mike's kydex 1911 supposedly works but you need to use a heat gun to custom fit it.

Unfortunately guys, Questar's Sig Sale has now ended. They do still have some stock listed at regular retail price though. Sorry, I don't know much about that holster in the kit, I didn't buy that model.

Ok, found out that Blade Tech Sting Ray series 1911 holsters fit the Sig 1911 frame. Now who carries 'em in stock in Canada? :)
