I realize that the FRT for SCAR was deemed prohib but is anyone ever going to try to bring them in again for classification?
Seriously? There's never been a rifle where the prohibited classification was reversed.

I don't get why we even discuss the possibility of purchasing prohibited firearms here.
Only a new version that address the conversion issue could be permitted. I think this is what he means, obviously they will not be reclassified.
No, no and no. Seriously, no. If it wasn't for the efforts of a CGN member, these would still be in limbo hell. I'm not trying to be critical, but those of you who weren't involved in this SCAR fiasco really have no idea what went on with this rifle. To say it was a Gong Show would be a gross understatement.
Here's the short version: SOCOM funded it, and they own it. These were never supposed to be exported out of the US for commercial sales. Period. If you want one, be prepared to move to the US. Beyond that, buy an ACR.
I don't think you understood what I said at all.
The reason the XCR is so expensive is because they are 1) Higher quality than a 1000 dollar gun and 2) Are proprietary, unlike the AR-15. A 1200 dollar ar15 is easily worth 1500+, but since there are so many made, simple supply and demand brings down their prices to a more reasonable level. To suggest than an XCR is on a 1000 dollar gun (DPMS) level is asinine, if the XCR was to correspond with a quality level of AR-15 I would suggest Daniel Defense would be an appropriate match. A Daniel Defense runs about 1700, an XCR is 600 bucks more simply because the XCR is proprietary.
The XCR is expensive because the market here will bear it , no other reason. They don't sell for $2500 in the US.
As for quality, I had one, it was ok, but in no way is it any better than the Stag AR I had that was $1300.
