Sask big game draw

Drew mule deer which means I finally get a shot at some velvet mules! Wife got nothing but she drew a bunch last year.

Also drew a deer tag in Montana and waiting for Wyoming Antelope/Deer and Montana Antelope results, it's going to be a busy fall (if the border re-opens).

wife was super A for moose and got drawn
i was A pool for elk and got drawn
makes no sense since the zone gets thousands of applicants

mate finally after 13yrs get bull elk

I was drawn for mule deer last year, only took 9 years. Been waiting for moose since 06. Was drawn for elk and antelope 2 years ago after more than 10 years so I'm not expecting them for a long time.

Was and still am in Super A for elk and moose. :(

Wasn't expecting to get either of the mule draws, but low and behold got drawn for antlerless from D pool. Didn't get skunked! :)

I'm going to let you guys in on some CGN Exclusive tip! As someone who only became resident of Saskatchewan in 2015, I have so far drawn:
2x Either-### mule deer;
2x Antlerless mule deer (two tags both years);
1x Either-### moose; and
1x Antlerless elk (first year not 99).

Here's my tip, the ministry produces a yearly report on draw statistics. Based on that, you can see your draw odds in all zones, for all species and in which pool you can draw from. Believe it or not, but there are tags that can be awarded from D pool. Also, applying in 1 (or all 6) zones with only 15 to 25 tags and 4000 applicants is a waste of time, especially if all awarded tags came from the 'Legacy' pool of applicants.

I personally would rather hunt lesser zones every 2-3 years, than maybe get a shot at a great zone every 10 years.

Nothing for me but it's all good. Can still hunt mule deer, moose elk and whitetail in good zones on otc tags. Actually glad I didnt draw an elk tag since it messes with my archery mule deer hunt. I'd also rather hunt moose in the Bush than in the farmland any day.

I only put in for the zones where I know landowners and have standing permissions. Unfortunately those also happen to be fairly popular ones. Honestly, Im just as happy to chase rabbits with a .22 or grouse with a 20ga. Maybe I’ll actually get around to trying duck hunting this year.

Congrats to those who were drawn, particularly those who have been waiting the better part of a decade.

Shhhhhhhh!!!!!! You’re gonna screw up the system.

I’ve been drawn for antlerless mule deer 12 of the last 14 years, and I only apply for 4 Different zones all within a short drive of my front door. I’ve also been drawn for Either ### mule 5 times in the last 14 years.

That much coveted elk tag for zone 2W has been elusive though. My cousin got a 7x7 last year that went 380”.

Moose in the farmland is not much of a hunt, compared to thick bush, but it is good for a cow/calf to fill the freezer. Bush hunting from a camp is more adventure, but packing out a moose from thick bush is a nightmare, for young hunters only.
