Sask big game draw

Son #1 and I pulled mule deer tags from A. Son #2 drew a moose tag in a southern zone where we have family so his first moose hunt should be a gooder.
I’m legacies now for elk so will spend some time scouting this fall to narrow down the right zone. Any tips or suggestions appreciated.

My son was drawn for either ### mule deer from the B pool. There’s normally about 1000 applicants from A and SuperA that apply for this particular zone. Something screwy about this.
 
Checked this morning. Nothing.
Just checked again.
Mule deer and antlerless mule deer a 10 minute drive from the house.
 
If you draw 3 species you can opt out of one. There’s a lot of extra muley tags in some zones including where I’m drawn. Pastures are huge though so should be able to get away from hunters. Hope landowner relations don’t take a hit.
It will be interesting to see the stats when they come out, seems like every is “lucky” this year. Hunter numbers were way down last fall around here.
 
I herd the same thing when I was knocking on doors. Most farmers, at least in the south, don't mind people hunting there land as long as you have the balls to talk to them and are not a complete screw up. Be respectful but with the trespassing act changes many people said I'm done with hunting. But ya almost every farmer i talked too said they have never seen so many deer and so few hunters. They are getting into there grain bags and damaging there crops so ya they may be a little easier to talk to then you might think. Also I got drawn for Either ### moose, Mule deer and 2 antlerless mule deer.

That's one of my favorite things to look through, last years stats. I wonder if any of these lucky long shot gambles will actually be reflected in the stats next year?

I've been in D pool for antlerless mule deer the last 7 years an I get drawn every year. Just have to pick a spot that isn't really desirable. Zone 8 was a guarantied draw before they made it limited open season but most people didn't want to drive 3 for hours for a mule deer. But when you have 3 people with tags and can easily tag out in a day its worth while.
