Remember to apply for the draw before the last Thursday of may. What a dumb deadline.
I’m finally in legacy pool for elk, hoping to get lucky in one of the tougher to draw zones.
If anyone wants to guide me to a bull worthy of a 14 year wait I’ll make it worth your while haha.

9th year super a for moose. Just got drawn for mule deer two years ago. Took 12 years to get drawn...I get drawn for elk every 3 years in the zone I go in. And go regular season elk and moose as well, when not drawn of course. I grew up, andy parents still live in zone where there is a open season for moose and elk, and also draw. Draw is a farmland hunt, instead of the bush for moose. And the seasons are also quite different.

I can hunt regular season elk from home, usually take the first legal animal. Draw tags for me are for a special animal from a special kind of place.
I’ve applied in the 15 tag zones down on the border. Love hunting that country although it also can bring challenges. Even out of legacy pool I think my chances of drawing are under 50% and diminishing.
My shameless plug for a partner on this tag is serious. There are big bulls throughout the province but local help with scouting/permission etc would be invaluable.
I just want to hunt mature bulls for a change.

I see on the provincial hunt/fish app that my status has changed, I got a prairie elk tag!
Can’t see how to tell which zone I’m drawn.

46 is a great zone for moose imo. I drew 3 tags this year including zone 47 moose which I’m sadly going to send back. We can’t eat 2 big animals in our household anymore and I’ve got a great elk tag. My third tag is antlerless mule deer that I may not even purchase. It’s a game I played for this exact circumstance. If drawn for 3 species in sk you can send one back and still retain your pool status.
My plan was to float the N Saskatchewan with my inflatable and mud motor. I think that would be a hoot.
Does anyone want to partner up on a moose tag? All the soft parts of the moose are yours…
