Sask boys, what's your opinion on this weather and the migration?

I didn't see too many ducks or Canadas yesterday (Saskatoon area). Seen lots of snow geese. Has this early cold snap sent all the birds south for the winter or has the migration not picked up into full swing yet and it's just all the local birds that left?
Plus side, tons of swaths lying in the fields means lots of goose activity.

lots of birds flying high midday in southern Mb. today, I think this cold weather is making migrators out of the sissy ones.
watched my little princess bring back a dozen of the big fellows tonight in a field shoot, all between 9-12 pounds maybe.

I cant see many birds stopping on the way south all the sloughs are froze solid around here, the only thing open is the big water and the sky dandruff (snow geese) have most open water covered here.If it thaws it wil be a different story.

I came thru on friday and back on Monday and there are lots of Canada's on #5 in the Wadenda to Canora area. Also lots around Bredenbury and Langenberg right thru to Russell. Still open water in about 50% of the sloughs.

I'd say 3/4 of the birds have migrated through already, ( mainly snows have left) but mallards and Canadas are still here in good numbers.

Was as far east as Quill Lake on Saturday. Didn't see many birds around, seen a few flocks between Lanigan and Colonsay but that was about it. What's everyone else seeing? Have the flocks moved off or do we have a few good weekends left?

Hey sealhunter, where abouts are you finding the snows? I have my mornings free and want to go hammer a few and my old spots are just baron this year and haven't had any time for scouting.

Opinions? Haven't seen too many birds moving around Saskatoon. Was down in Moose Jaw last weekend and there were fields of geese. Further south at Thompson Lake there must be a million snows, you couldn't even see water on the lake.
